We are proud to have worked with Gridstor in the development of Goleta´s battery storage facility. This is the newest battery storage facility in California which is also now the largest power source in Santa Barbara County.
The project involved the deployment of 44 Tesla Megapacks, which can store up to 160 megawatt-hours of electricity. This is enough to power 30,000 homes for about four hours. The project addresses a critical need for the city by enhancing energy security during emergencies such as wildfires and providing backup power.
Working on this project has been a rewarding experience, and we are thrilled to see the positive impact it brings to the community. In addition, this project marks a significant step forward for Goleta’s energy infrastructure. The battery storage technology will replace natural-gas-powered facilities like the “peaker plant” in Ellwood, making Goleta’s energy grid more sustainable and resilient. By transitioning towards emission-free alternatives, the city is aligning with its ambitious goals and contributing to a cleaner and greener future for its residents. We are honored to have partnered with Gridstor on this project, which not only enhances energy reliability but also fosters a more sustainable future for Goleta.
