This Design-Build project was a competitive bid design-build project for Cal Poly and the California Central Coast Research Partnership.

The program called for a technology lab that would be available for lease by research firms and act as a connection for collaboration between Cal Poly students and industry. Prospective tenants include firms needing dry labs and wet labs. The design required flexibility to accommodate the space and equipment needs of as wide a variety as possible among prospective tenants.

Building flexibility, building maintenance, sustainability, environmental design, energy usage, and design quality were among the design goals for this project. This LEED certifiable building incorporates sustainable practices and utilizes resource, water, and energy conservation techniques.

Omni Design, Inc. provided both architectural and engineering services as well as Construction Administration. Civil Engineering services included graphic design, hydrology, and hydraulic design, erosion control design, storm drain design, as well as road and parking design.
