WILDLAND FIRE TEAM FACILITY DESIGN-BUILD

Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

Omni Design led the architectural and engineering efforts for the Wildland Fire Team Training Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

Originally constructed in 1959, the 7,740-square-foot, single-story facility underwent a comprehensive transformation. The renovation included upgrades to offices, training rooms, restrooms, day-use areas, and storage spaces. Notably, the day-use section was redesigned to incorporate a modern kitchen, day room, fitness/workout area, and locker room.

Our approach aligned with all applicable standards, including the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), and relevant Federal, State, and Local codes.

The scope of services included program verification, user interviews, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. The project also involved the addition of a new exterior vehicle pad and a pre-engineered metal canopy.
