Paso Robles Opens Public Safety Training Center - Omni Design Built the Whole Campus

On August 14, 2026, the City of Paso Robles celebrated the grand opening of its new Public Safety Training Center at 2924 Union Road — and they did it in true fire service fashion, cutting the ribbon with a portable set of jaws-of-life cutters. Fire and police personnel from throughout San Luis Obispo County gathered alongside Congressman Jimmy Panetta, who helped secure $500,000 in Federal Community Project Funding for the project. Fire Chief Jonathan Stornetta captured the significance of the moment: "They're going to have the training that they weren't able to get before. With our training with our allied agencies, all the fire departments respond together."

For Omni Design, the ribbon cutting was more than a milestone on a single project. It was the public debut of a campus we have helped shape from the very beginning.

A Master Plan That's Now a Reality

Omni Design's relationship with this site starts with an 8.5-acre Public Safety Master Plan for the intersection of Union Road and Ardmore in Paso Robles. When the City set out to build Fire Station No. 3, Omni was engaged to design more than a fire station — we developed a comprehensive site plan for the entire campus, establishing a layout intended to grow with the community's needs. That plan envisioned Fire Station No. 3, a dedicated public safety training center, and future operational facilities on the same property. Today, that vision is real.
