ZooMed Laboratories, a leading pet product research and development company headquartered in San Luis Obispo and known for its 30+ patents and locally manufactured products, is expanding operations with a new distribution facility in Nipomo. Omni Design provided architecture, civil engineering, and land surveying services for this design-build project on a 9.1-acre site, delivering a state-of-the-art logistics hub to support ZooMed’s continued growth.

Key Features

• Phased Construction: The project involves the phased development of two high-cube warehouses, one 71,000 SF and one 70,000 SF, for storage, re-packaging, and wholesale distribution of pet supplies.

• Sustainable Site Design: The facility incorporates low-impact development techniques including retention basins, bioswales, and other environmentally friendly stormwater management systems within a well-landscaped light-industrial park setting.

• Off-Site Improvements: Omni’s civil engineering scope included utility upgrades, road improvements with new turning lanes, and road realignments along McMillan Avenue to support increased traffic generated by the facility.
