Seaside Packaging Warehouse

Project Information

Location

Santa Maria, CA

Client

Omni Design was commissioned by Seaside Packaging to design a new distribution warehouse that caters to the packaging needs of the agriculture community in northern Santa Barbara County. The facility will supply corrugated boxes and other essential packaging materials, supporting the region’s agricultural operations.

Key Features

  • Agricultural Design Vernacular: The warehouse design incorporates traditional agricultural architecture, featuring metal siding, sloped metal roofs, and large overhangs. These elements are reminiscent of classic barns and farmhouses, blending seamlessly with the rural landscape.

  • Neighbor-Sensitive Site Design: Located across the street from a residential development, the design incorporated measures to mitigate sound and other environmental impacts from warehouse machinery and truck traffic on neighboring properties.

  • Full-Service Facility: The 41,000 SF facility includes offices, truck loading docks, landscaping, and utilities on a 6-acre site, providing a complete operational hub for packaging distribution.

Outcome

The warehouse serves as a critical resource for the agriculture community in northern Santa Barbara County, offering much-needed packaging solutions while embracing a design that complements the region’s agrarian heritage. Construction is complete and the project is fully occupied. The owners are so pleased with the results that Omni Design is currently in progress on a new phase to develop an additional warehouse to provide more storage with loading docks, offices, and humidity-controlled storage rooms for specialty goods.
