City of Paso Robles
The Paso Robles Corporation Yard Facility is designed to centralize and enhance the City’s maintenance operations. Strategically located at the intersection of Union and Ardmore Roads and adjacent to Fire Station No. 3 and the future Public Safety Training Center, the 34,537-square-foot facility will consolidate services for the Utilities Department, Landscape/Facilities, and Fleet Maintenance divisions. Omni Design is providing full architectural services including programming, schematic design, entitlement, construction documents, cost estimation, and bidding assistance.
Key Features
Integrated Maintenance Operations: The facility offers ample, well-ventilated spaces for vehicle and equipment maintenance, along with locker rooms and showers to support field crews.
Campus-Style Layout: The project includes three distinct buildings, each with dedicated on-site parking, arranged in a cohesive campus-like configuration that promotes operational efficiency across departments.
Contextual Architecture: Designed to reflect the area’s rural character, the buildings blend seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood through materials and massing that reference the local agrarian vernacular.
Sustainable Site Design: Native landscaping including drought-tolerant trees and shrubs, and decorative metal fencing contribute to a functional and visually appealing site.
Outcome
The project has received approval from the Planning Commission and construction documents are currently being developed. Building permit application is scheduled for submission soon, with construction expected to begin in summer 2026. The new Corporation Yard will significantly improve the City’s operational capacity and provide its maintenance workforce with a modern, purpose-built facility.
