Project Information
Location
Paso Robles, CA
Client
County of San Luis Obispo
Omni Design provided topographic survey and civil engineering services for the rehabilitation of the Heritage Ranch Fire Station’s parking and access improvements. The project required precise survey data across a complex site, and Omni deployed a multi-technology approach to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Key Features
Advanced Survey Technology: The team utilized GPS, Total Station, and drone technology to collect precise survey data, enabling complete coverage of the full site including areas that would be challenging or cost-prohibitive with conventional methods alone.
Comprehensive Topographic Documentation: The survey identified underground utilities, established elevations based on NAVD 88, provided benchmarks across the site, mapped contours at 5-foot intervals, and recorded spot elevations on a 50-foot grid.
Critical Feature Mapping: All key site features were accurately located, including structures, fire hydrants, and drainage systems, data essential for the design of the parking lot and access improvements.
Outcome
Omni Design’s survey deliverables provided the Heritage Ranch Fire Station project team with the precise, reliable data needed to advance the design of parking and access improvements. The integration of drone technology ensured complete site coverage efficiently and safely, demonstrating Omni’s commitment to deploying the right tools for each project’s unique conditions.
