Jackson Family Winery
In 2018, Jackson Family Winery engaged Omni Design to provide entitlement services and design a semi-enclosed 28,000-square-foot metal canopy and structural frame over the existing wine tanks at Cambria Estate Winery in Santa Maria. In 2021, Omni was retained again to redesign the existing tasting room façade and patio at the main entrance, delivering a comprehensive refresh that enhanced both the functionality and visual identity of the facility.
Key Features
Wine Tank Canopy: The 28,000 SF semi-enclosed metal canopy and structural frame provided weather protection for existing wine tanks, while perforated metal panels over metal girt framing created a dramatic wine tank showcase visible from the tasting room entrance.
Façade & Patio Redesign: The tasting room entry was transformed with new doors and windows, architectural pop-outs, permanent shade structures, and a monumental barn door featuring laser-cut aluminum panels that tie together the material palette of the updated guardrails.
Accessibility & Site Improvements: The project included accessible parking, compliant paths of travel, stairways, and landscaping, along with topographic surveys and full architectural construction documents.
Outcome
Omni Design’s two-phase involvement significantly elevated Cambria Estate Winery’s guest experience and operational functionality. The canopy transformed the production area into a design feature visible from the public-facing entry, while the façade redesign gave the tasting room a fresh, cohesive identity that honors the winery’s agricultural roots.
