The building was designed to accommodate both dry and wet labs, with a strong emphasis on flexibility to meet the diverse spatial and equipment needs of potential tenants.
Omni Design, Inc. led the schematic design phase and produced presentation documents that played a key role in securing the project award. Design goals included adaptability, low maintenance, sustainability, environmental performance, energy efficiency, and high design quality. The LEED-certifiable facility incorporates sustainable strategies and resource-conscious systems for water and energy conservation.
In addition to architectural and engineering services, Omni Design, Inc. also provided construction administration. Civil engineering scope included graphic design, hydrology and hydraulic studies, erosion control, storm drainage, and road and parking design.
Omni Design, Inc. managed agency coordination and permitting, including compliance with the Division of the State Architect (DSA), ADA requirements, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
