SANTA MARIA REGIONAL TRANSIT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Paso Robles, California

The Santa Maria Regional Transit Center Modernization project is designed to boost public transit usage by delivering more flexible, convenient, and environmentally sustainable transportation options.

This initiative supports a shift away from single-occupancy vehicles by making transit a more attractive and viable alternative for the community.

Key Features:

  • Expanded Transit Services: Extended service hours and diversified transportation modes tailored to meet evolving rider needs.

  • All-Electric Fleet Transition: Santa Maria Regional Transit is moving to a fully electric bus fleet, supported by EV charging stations powered by solar arrays. The infrastructure is designed with future-ready vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capabilities.

  • Modern Amenities: The center will include high-speed Wi-Fi, mobile app-based bus passes, and a thoughtfully designed space that enhances user experience and serves as a welcoming gateway to key city destinations.

Outcome:

The modernization will result in a state-of-the-art transit hub that not only improves access and convenience, but also reinforces Santa Maria’s commitment to sustainability and forward-thinking urban design—encouraging both residents and visitors to choose public transportation.
